Melissa Mouat completed her MPhil at the University of Cambridge, where she studied nineteenth century Anglo-Chinese diplomatic history. Melissa has contributed articles to several academic journals and is presently working on a historical novel set in nineteenth century China. She is passionate about writing and keen to help other students improve their writing techniques. She has worked as a private tutor, helping students polish their essays and prepare for exams. She also has experience working as a freelance editor, proofreading and editing undergraduate and postgraduate academic work. She has excellent time management skills and is good at working to a deadline. She is friendly and enjoys working with people; she tries at all times to create a positive and constructive work environment. In her spare time, Melissa enjoys cooking, watching ice hockey and doing yoga.
