Shayne is currently enrolled as an MS student at Imperial College London studying Chemical Engineering with Biotechnology. He is currently part of a start up company focused on making membranes for water purification as well as researching cell regulation mechanisms as part of his thesis. Previoiusly, he studied at the University of California Berkeley where he received his BS in Chemical Engineering. While there, he worked in various laboratories, whose focus ranged from nanoparticles and battery technology, to synthetic biology and biofuels. Upon completion of his MS, he hopes to continue his studies as a PhD student.

Regarding to his success with school offers: he got accepted by Yale (with interview), UCLA, UC Berkeley and other Ivy League for his college applications
